‘What Does a Good Life Look Like’? Photovoice exhibition is now open!
What a lovely official opening of our Photovoice Exhibition on the evening of Thusday 9th November at Dewsbury Town Hall - huge thanks to everyone who joined us for this special event!
In this project students and staff from Kirklees College took part - illustrating the narratives of their life, sharing thoughts and experiences, celebrating strengths, illuminating challenges and collaborating for change.
Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Cllr Cahal Burke opened the event for us and we were also joined by leader of the Council Cllr Cathy Scott - some of the students and staff who took part in the project were there to share their thoughts with visitors.
I absolutely loved working alongside the staff and students at Kirklees College on this project and hugely grateful to Jax Lovelock for hosting the project so brilliantly.
Huge thanks also to Charlie Wells from Kirklees Council for her support, and to the staff at Dewsbury Town Hall for hosting this exhibition.
Here’s what some people said about the exhibition:
The exhibition is on until the end of December and is open to the members of the public - please do come along and share your thoughts with us!

I am keen to grow the conversation with fellow travellers, practitioners and folks who are interested in photovoice, community development and the intersection of art and community - if that sounds like you’re cup of tea too then I’d love for you to check out the Our Creative Connection Podcast HERE and you can also find it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube if you follow the links below!
