Humans of Harrogate Skills for Living – A Portrait Exhibition

Humans of Harrogate Skills for Living is a series of portraits of people connected with Harrogate Skills for Living (HS4L).

HS4L is an organisation that provides support, opportunities, and learning for people with learning disabilities and additional needs.

Their work helps people build confidence, develop skills, and form meaningful connections.

They support individuals in living independently, finding employment, taking part in social activities, and accessing education.

This exhibition aims to celebrate the people at the heart of HS4L.

Each portrait tells a story of personality, community, and individuality.

The process of capturing these portraits was about more than just taking pictures. It was about getting to know the people involved, understanding their experiences, and reflecting their unique perspectives.

Photography has the power to challenge perceptions and shift narratives. In this case, it highlights the strengths, aspirations, and diversity of those who are part of HS4L.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and shared their time, energy, and stories.

The exhibition is now open, and we invite you to come and see it in person.
